Esseneck-/Voelckerstrasse
A neighbourhood with tradition
It’s no coincidence that the two streets crossing right in front of Green – Living Holzhausen carry the names of old Frankfurt builders and historians. The Voelcker family moved to Frankfurt from Darmstadt in the 16th century and built the most impressive half-timbered house in Frankfurt, the “Black Star”. The Eysseneck family can be traced back to medieval times. The last member of this patrician family, Johann Karl von Fichard, born in Frankfurt in 1773, was a historian interested particularly in the history of Frankfurt. The street named after him is filled with extravagant patrician mansions out of sandstone.
Green – Living Holzhausen continues the tradition of upscale living in a cultivated environment – with modern means.
